Robin Selden

Managing Partner, Executive Chef Marcia Selden Catering 

Robin Selden is the Managing Partner and Executive Chef of Connecticut and New York City-based Marcia Selden Catering and Naked Fig Catering (a luxury plant-based catering love child of celebrity chef Matthew Kenney and team MSC). She oversees the culinary and marketing operations for her family’s multimillion-dollar company. The first catering company ever inducted into the CT Restaurant Association’s Hall of Fame. 

Along with her brother, Jeffrey, the “Dynamic Sibling Duo” were named two of the “100 Most Inspiring People” in the Wedding industry by The Knot. In October of 2019.

Robin was honored to be named to the BizBash1000 celebrating the top 1,000 event professionals in the United States in 2019 and to the BizBash 500 celebrating the top 500 event professionals in 2020 in the United States and in 2022 she was named as one of the 10 Industry Innovators by Bizbash.

With matriarch Marcia at the helm, the company orchestrates over 1000 events a year. Winner of the coveted internationally recognized Catie Award for Caterer of the Year and ACE (Achievement in Catering Excellence) award for Best Caterer, East Coast and just named Best Caterer in CT by the CT Restaurant Association. MSC has been the “It” caterer of Connecticut for more than 45 years. 

Selden is in the President’s Council, as a past President, of the International Caterers Association and won their coveted Chef of the Year award. She’s a past Innovative Chef of the Year and a current Ambassador Chef for the Greenwich Wine & Food Festival. Comfortable on stage, Selden emcees the Art of Catering Food at the Catersource Conference where she also judges the cooking and cocktail competitions. 

She is the newest Board Member of the CT Restaurant Association, sits on three  non-for-profit boards including The American Cancer Society and sits on the Advisory Board of two National Magazines. Robin is a board ambassador for the Make a Wish Foundation and passionately helps to make wishes come true as a local celebrity chef for the annual Taste of Wishes event. In 2013, Selden helped to establish the first Women’s Wellness event, for the American Cancer Society; Women Leading the Way to Wellness. 

Her passion for giving back and inspiring the future generation of the hospitality industry, has led her and brother Jeffrey, to education. For the last seven years they have taught a catering and special events class, at Cornell University’s famed School of Hospitality and Boston University’s Hotel & Restaurant Management School. Additionally, the duo is invited to speak nationally (and internationally) at countless conferences and summits every year.

Since the pandemic hit in March, she and her team have helped to champion “Food for the Frontlines” and have delivered thousands of meals to frontline workers as well as to restaurant and foodservice workers to make sure that their families didn’t go hungry during these uncertain and trying times! 

Robin was recognized, in July, 2021 at the Special Event/Catersource as the recipient of the Richard Carbotti award given annually to honor industry leaders who demonstrate Richard's spirit of volunteerism and philanthropy.
She currently resides in Stamford, Ct. with her husband Michael, twins Max & Maggie and her Golden Doodle "canine kids" Ozzie & Bo
