Kevan Stewart
Owner of The Palm Terrace
Kevan Stewart (DJ Vaun) at night heats up the turntables as one of Jamaica’s and USA’s most experienced and versatile DJs, whose skills have earned him an unsurpassed reputation in the wedding and events industry. But by day, Kevan Stewart is an astute businessman and passionate entrepreneur.
Since starting his DJ career in 2003, he has consistently expanded his solo freelance effort into a thriving business empire. Today, he owns and operates multiple businesses, including Jamaica Wedding DJ, Reggae Tech Limited, and H.O.F Decor. These event services and décor businesses provide DJs, MCs, sound and audiovisual equipment, and luxury event décor to planners, hotels, and destination wedding couples across the island.
Kevan has also curated events around the world for top global brands like Whirlpool, Samsung, JP Morgan Chase, and Herbalife, gaining extensive experience and recognition in the international event space.
In 2021, he founded The Palm Terrace, an outdoor wedding venue in Montego Bay, Jamaica, which quickly became known for its elite and luxurious event offerings. His excitement for music, entrepreneurship, and everything Jamaica continues to fuel his success in this industry.
Like many successful entrepreneurs, Kevan’s journey wasn’t a straightforward one. After high school, he used the life skills, discipline, and determination he gained from seven years as a cadet to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot. However, financial constraints cut his flight short. Undeterred, Kevan ventured into the working world, gaining valuable experience in management, customer service, and online marketing, while managing a restaurant and working in Montego Bay’s BPO Industry.
Simultaneously, he built his DJ career, playing at events hosted by his mother, until life took an unexpected turn—he became a father. This milestone became the catalyst for the creation of Jamaica Wedding DJ. Kevan expanded his business by investing in more equipment, a move that proved timely, as he soon lost his job. This setback turned into an opportunity, allowing him to focus fully on growing his business and paving the way for his success as a dynamic entrepreneur.
