Dr. Lorneka Joseph, a native of The Bahamas, is an award- winning pharmacist, speaker and wellness coach who helps high achievers redefine their work and wellness. This Forbes and Essence Magazine feature is also an inductee in Miami Dade College’s Hall of Fame for her impact.
Her academic journey started at University of The Bahamas, where she transferred and graduated from Florida A & M University with her Doctorate degree in Pharmacy with a minor in journalism and communications. Additionally, Dr. Lorneka was also recently recognized by actress Taraji Henson's Boris Henson foundation for her work in mental health and wellness. Founder of Brightly Awake, a professional service company, Dr. Lorneka’s client roster includes Women of Walgreens, Citi Bank, Hogan Lovells law firm, Orange County Schools, University of West Georgia, SLS Baha Mar hotel, Florida Department of Health, Orlando Bar Association and more.
Her core speaking topics include personal development, leadership, mental health, student success and women’s empowerment. Her faith in God makes this journey bright and bold. She was raised observing loved ones work to the point of burn out but knew that her family needed unorthodox healing to break generational poverty and patterns. Dr. Lorneka also sits on the board of directors for Jenny Green Scholarship Foundation.
When people-pleasing sends you to the emergency room with an anxiety attack masked as back pain, it’s time to break some boxes. Dr. Lorneka is releasing her second book Working Well in 2023. This curry-chicken lover and mental health advocate is also certified as an HIV/AIDs tester and counseler where she served, underserved groups in Haiti, The Bahamas and Tallahassee, Florida.
